Bane NOR will build a new double track from Kleverud in the south to Åkersvika in the north. The new embankment in Åkersvika will run parallel to the existing one, and will also cross the existing track at Sandvika. This means that the ground conditions must be closely monitored during the construction phase, something Geonor AS has expertise in.
We thank Romerike Grunnboring AS for the assignment to deliver 35 pore pressure meters, loggers, instrumentation and remote monitoring via VDV Bentley's web solution. The project has an estimated duration of 2 years with start-up in the first quarter of 2024.
Sweco is Bane Bane NOR's advisor, while Romerike Grunnboring AS has been commissioned to drill and install our pore pressure meters and lay cables.
Drilling and instrumentation is done via barge and a special cable is then pulled to shore where our loggers collect data and send it to a gateway which in turn sends it to our ftp server. This makes it possible to continuously monitor and remotely read the ground conditions.
Åkersvika Nature Reserve is an important area for several bird species and was protected in 1974 and became Norway's first Ramsar site in 1975. Åkersvika is located on the eastern side of Lake Mjøsa where two other rivers flow into it. Sedimentation and erosion from these rivers help to shape the area over time.
We are pleased to be able to contribute with technology, service and expertise in such a central and important area for the environment and wildlife," says Olaf Ødegård, CEO of Geonor AS.
