Campaign: We celebrate top position in Vienna

Geonor received the Highly Recommended award at the Varysian Global Hydrometeorological Excellence Awards 2025. To celebrate, we are offering a 25% discount on our T-200B rain gauges, H-10 wing augers, H-60 pocket wing augers and all related accessories!

Award-winning technology for cold climates

In October, Geonor participated in the Hydromet Awards in Vienna, after being nominated in the category Best Cold Weather Technology for Hydromet Applications . Among some of the most respected companies and innovators in the global hydrometeorological community, we took second place.

James, David and Olaf in place in Vienna

This award recognizes decades of development of reliable and precise measurement technologies, tailored for the most demanding climate conditions – technology that ensures accurate data collection, research and climate resilience worldwide.

It is a great honor to be recognized by an international jury of experts from organizations such as the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the World Bank and UCAR. This award confirms the high quality that characterizes our entire product line.

We celebrate our international recognition

We want to celebrate the award with our customers, and therefore invite you to read more about the campaign and our products.

Selected instruments:

Geonor T-200B – Rainfall gauge

Accurate data regardless of weather conditions

The T-200B is the industry standard for measuring solid precipitation, and was developed in the 1980s in collaboration with NGI and the Norwegian Meteorological Institute.

The design provides unparalleled reliability. The T-200B uses a vibrating string load cell, so there are no moving parts to fail or cause errors. It also does not require internal heating, eliminating a common cause of inaccurate measurements in cold climates.

As part of our continuous development, the meter is now available in different versions (600 mm, 1000 mm and 1500 mm), with analog and digital (SDI 12) outputs providing both raw and processed data.

With over 30 years of field experience and more than 3,000 systems delivered worldwide, the T-200B is the first choice for national weather services and research communities. The rain gauge is the solution for those who depend on precise, real-time data from the most remote and demanding locations.

Geonor H-10 – wing drill

Perfect for detailed in situ measurements

Geonor H-10 delivers detailed data you can trust. Where simpler equipment can cause errors, the H-10 ensures top-level accuracy and solves the most common challenges in the field.

Challenge: Inaccurate measurements due to friction between rod and clay.

H-10 Solution: Using stock tubes prevents rod friction and provides accurate data.

Challenge: Damage to the wing and time-consuming cleaning.

H-10 Solution: The unique protective shoe prevents the blade from bending or damaging, helping to keep it cleaner and ready for the next measurement. Cleaning is minimal, and when it is needed, it is done quickly and easily – even between tests. This reduces clay build-up on the blade, ensures accurate measurements and makes the drill ideal for use in challenging and layered soils.

The H-10 has the capacity to drill down to 30 meters using a hand jack. With flexible measurement ranges (0–60 kPa and 0–100 kPa), it is the ideal tool for designing earth fill foundations and embankments.

The original Geonor H-60 – pocket wing drill

Fast and reliable field data

The H-60 ensures cost-effective, preparatory field surveys. It is light, fast and perfect for manual measurements down to 3 meters.

In preparatory ground investigations, the use of non-standard equipment can provide inaccurate data. Such equipment introduces uncertainty and systematic errors. If these errors form the basis for the design parameters, the risk of costly design errors increases.

The Geonor H-60 prevents such errors from occurring. The instrument was developed in 1966 by the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) and is today the industry standard in over 60 countries. As a guarantee of quality, each instrument is supplied with an individual calibration certificate. Avoid costly mistakes using low-quality copies – choose the original H-60 for documented accuracy.
