Lars Kvande started at Geonor in April 2024, and has the role of production technician with logistics responsibility. With a versatile everyday life and responsibility for the Norwegian market, he ensures flow in everything from inventory to practical production.
With a broad and varied background in logistics, sales, data and IT operations, Lars brings a lot of valuable experience. This versatility comes in handy at Geonor, and contributes to his varied working life – he especially enjoys having a lot of different things to do.
Today he has full logistics responsibility for Geonor in Norway. This means that he arranges absolutely everything for goods that are needed for or from customers, subcontractors and vendors. He checks daily which orders need to be sent out, has general control over the warehouse and makes sure that more needs to be ordered, so that Geonor always has what is needed when the need arises.

Once the logistics are under control, Lars shifts his focus to the other part of his role: production. Ever since he started at Geonor, he has put a lot of effort into organizing the inventory and putting everything in order. By creating structure in what was previously a bit confusing, he has made everyday life significantly easier. He now spends much less time in the warehouse, and can instead use the freed up time on practical work in production.
– The best thing is to be practical and manage the everyday life a little myself. After I got the warehouse in order, I spend much less time there and more time on production, which is what I like best, he says.

As a production technician, he works with sensors, rain gauges, measuring reels, samplers and wing drills. The work is varied and precision-mechanical, and consists of soldering, cable pulling, calibration and making coils and "bodies" for the meters. In addition, extensive assignments sometimes arise that require extra focus. The most exciting and challenging project he has been involved in so far was in connection with a larger project in Porsgrunn. Here he went out on a raft to repair several piezometers on a pier.
Everyday life at Geonor is active with a lot of heavy lifting, and there is rarely a completely uninterrupted lunch before a new task appears. According to Lars, there is always enough to do, which he enjoys. He works closely with colleague Dejan on a daily basis, and describes a large, informal and close-knit team where the threshold for getting help is low.
– There's a very relaxed tone here, and it's never a problem to ask each other things. It's a very nice workplace, he says.

With an active everyday life that involves both logistics and heavy lifting in production, it is perhaps not surprising that Lars also likes to stay active when he has time off. When the workday is over, measuring equipment is replaced by outdoor activities. Lars thrives in nature, and especially enjoys going on camping trips – preferably to places with a body of water nearby, as he is very fond of both paddling and swimming.
But he also thrives indoors when the weather or season dictates.
– When I'm not out on a trip, I like to relax with computer games, he says with a smile.
