Geonor is a leading supplier of various types of wing drills, which are a safe, accurate and well-established method for in situ measurement of undrained shear strength in soft clays. The wing-drill technology is so well established as a tool that the equipment has formed the basis for international geotechnical standards.
The largest international markets for wing drills are in regions where marine clay and quick clay are a challenge for the construction industry.
Geonor manufactures and supplies three types of wing drills; H-60 (0-3 meters), H-70 (0-10 meters +) and H-10 (0-30 meters +)
The wing drill can be used manually down to depths of 30 m or more. To ensure constant rotation speed of the wing, the wing drill instrument can be converted for electric operation. Can be extended with Ø36 x 1000 mm pipe and Ø16 x 1000 mm inner rods.
Designed for easy assessment of undrained shear strength in soft to firm clays. Can be extended with 0.5 m rods.
H-70 inspection wing drill, complete. Supplied in steel transport case. Intended for easy assessment of undrained shear strength in soft to medium soft clays.
Can be extended with Ø25 x 1000 mm rods. Hammer drill can be used for pre-drilling.
